A Survey on "Birendra Multiple Campus"
1. Introduction
We,
Arekh, Hardik, Trishan, Siddhant, Manish, The student of grade 9 went on a
visit to famous campus "Birendra Multiple Campus". We visited there
on 4th July,2019. We five students visited there by magic. The main
aim of our visi
t was to make survey of the campus.
Birendra Multiple Campus is a famous
name in the educational sector of Nepal which works under Tribhuvan University
(T.U.). It was established on 1st Biashakh 2022 B.S. by Late King
Mahendra Bikram Shah. There are 151 teachers, 11 professor and 77 staffs in the
campus. It teaches around 3000 students and contains 70 classes.
2. Objectives of
the study
The
following were the objectives of our study:
Ø To
inspect about the library management.
Ø To
know about the educational programs of campus
Ø To
search information of various departments.
3. Method of
study
First
of all we decided to go for a visit. After planning we thought of a suitable
topic for the visit. Then, we discussed the time and places to visit. We also
prepared Questionnaire to ask to teachers and students in campus.
Finally we visited there and collect
data and information of the place. The data we collected are of two types.
a. Primary
source: Mainly we collected primary data by different ways.
Observation was one of them. We interviewed teachers and staffs in the campus.
We asked them the questions in Questionnaire. We also clicked photos. Not only
photos we also recorded sound while interviewing.
b.
Secondary source: Not only primary we also
collected some some secondary data from different sources . Reading the
brochure was one of them. We also accessed internet and browsed information
from website of campus. Advertisement in newspaper also helped us.
After the collection of data
we returned to our home. We arranged or tabulated data. With the help of those
data we wrote a report on Birendra Multiple Campus. After the completion we
submitted it our social teacher Ram Prasad Sharma.
4.
Findings
After
the collection of data and information from different sources, we have gathered
the following facts. This facts have been analyzed and presented below:
· Library
management
The library was
made by support of Indian Government. The name of the librarian is Rudra Bhadur
Bohara. He has been working for 38 years in this field. He said "He is
well known about all the books present in library". According to him, A
student can borrow 10% books of his study from library. Other they have to manage
themselves." If library found that the book is lost then it will charge
fine and ask to buy same book to replace. The library has all books at proper
place according to their category. The books in library are up to date . Twenty
newspapers come daily to library. Yearly the newspapers are burned to mange it.
The library has a separate security guard for the security of books. The
librarian said "No one can steal book from library." In the library
no one can take bag inside it. At last, the
library is managed and secured.
·Educational Programs
The campus has conducted different educational
programs. All programs are filled with medium number of students. The major
programs are Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree. Campus has conducted 24 Bachelor's
program and 8 Master's program. They recently added Microbiology and Geology
course in Bachelors. A number of students are coming to study it. M.A.
Sociology Anthropology and M.Sc. Chemistry are new programs in Masters. Campus
Chief said "B.Ed. ICT will be also launch
in nearly future." Campus is producing broachers to give information about
its program.
· Educational Departments Educational
Departments plays a vital role to run institute. There are 17 departments in
Birendra Multiple Campus. It means the programs are divided into seventeen
groups. Some of them are Nepali, History, Zoology, Geography Culture Ed, Economics,
etc. Each department has a head to run it. Head of Education Department said "All departments are running smoothly ." These
departments are responsible for conducting all classes under them. According to
Assistant Campus Chief, In History, Culture, Political Science and Geography
department have less number of students.
5. Conclusion and Recommendation
To
collect information, it was very difficult because many teachers ware not in
the staff room. But the rest cooperate to give answer of the questions present
in Questionnaire. This visit helped us to improve our communication skills by talking to
many teachers. We enjoy a lot in this visit. The campus property must be
preserved by the students.
There
were some problems that we faced or saw in the campus. The glasses in windows
were cracked. This must be replaced with new glasses. The ground of the campus
was full of grasses. If the grasses are there no one can play . So, that must
be cut. The
administration office was closed due to strike. Many students were returning.
In the name of strike office must not be closed.
